Ziv Gottesfeld | Co-founder | board member
photoZiv has served as CellEra’s CEO since inception, and is directly responsible for defining and driving the the company’s go-to-market strategy and international business development activities within the high-growth renewable-energy storage and generation markets. A seasoned entrepreneur, Ziv previously founded and served as the CEO of Idioma Solutions, a developer of automated recognition and work-flow systems for the global media information market. At Idioma, he led the company from its inception to the point of break-even, and was responsible for generating multi-million dollar revenues from multinational corporations. Following Idioma Ziv was active in the launch of two additional startup companies. He holds a B.Sc. from Tel Aviv University in physics (Magna Cum Laude), and an M.Sc. from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Dr. Shimshon Gottesfeld | Co-founder | board member
photoDr. Gottesfeld is a world-renowned expert in fuel cells. From 1985 – 2001, he was the fuel cell technology group leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and his team’s work was recognized worldwide for its technology-enabling contributions in the areas of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) and direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs). He later served as the CTO and VP of R&D for MTI Microfuel Cells (NASDAQ: MKTY), where he led the development of direct methanol fuel cells for use in advanced power sources for portable electronic applications. A fellow of the Electrochemical Society and a lifetime fellow of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Dr. Gottesfeld is the recipient of several awards and prizes. Most recently he was awarded the Grove Medal for Fuel Cell Science and Technology in 2006, and the US Fuel Cell Seminar Award in 2008. He has published over 150 articles and several book chapters and holds 25 patents with five more pending. Dr. Gottesfeld obtained his D.Sc. in chemistry in 1970 from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and later joined the chemistry department at Tel Aviv University, where his research activities included studies of electrochemical interfaces with spectroscopic techniques, focusing on fundamental and applied aspects of electro catalysis.
Glen Schwaber | Board Member
photoGlen is a Partner at Israel Cleantech Ventures (ICV, www.israelcleantech.com) and his investment activities are focused on power electronics, energy storage, solar and ‘crossover’ technologies. He currently represents ICV on the boards of CellEra, Scodix and Brightview. Glen is a veteran venture capitalist, bringing with him 15 years of experience in Israeli technology finance. Glen also focuses on wind related innovation and lighting/energy efficiency technologies. Prior to joining ICV, Glen worked for nine years, six as partner, with Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP), one of Israel’s largest and most successful venture capital funds, where he led and co-led 15 investments. Glen holds a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.A. from Harvard College, where he graduated magna cum laude.
Ori Bendori | board member
photoOri Bendori is a seasoned senior executive with over 25 years of management leadership in the Hi-Tech industry. Ori joined Carmel Ventures in October 2004 as a General Partner. He is focusing primarily on investments in the areas of Communications, Semiconductors and Energy. Ori served as a board member of CopperGate that was acquired by Sigma Designs for $180M in 2009. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of LiveU, DesignArt Networks, Multiphy, Imagine Communications, bTendo, C2 Microsystems, and Cellera.
Prior to joining Carmel Ori served as a VP & General Manager of the Enterprise Internetworking Systems Division at Avaya. He was responsible for several hundred million dollars in revenues for LAN and WAN switches, providing wireline and wireless solutions to the enterprise. Prior to this role he served as VP & General Manager of the LAN Systems Group at Lucent and before that as CTO of Lannet. He began his career in the Israeli Aircraft Industries.
Ori holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics & Computer Science from Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Ori served as a Major and Fighter Pilot in the Israeli Air Force for 19 years.

photoAs a Principal at Vodafone Ventures David leads the Venture Capital activities in the UK and is also closely engaged with the Israeli and Scandinavian markets with a focus on technology investments. David joined Vodafone in 1998 to lead the evaluation and introduction of 3G and has since influenced a multitude of key strategic initiatives and investments ranging from fixed mobile convergence to mobile health. David brings a wealth of operational experience to investments, gained from over 25 years in start-ups and PLCs in the Communications, TV Film and Defense sectors, both in the UK and the US. He has held a multitude of technical, commercial and strategic positions at all levels of a business; from the lab to the board room, and all importantly as a founder. This combination of technical and commercial experience is particularly valuable in making higher risk technology infrastructure investments and in 2010 he was named in Wired’s top 100 Influencers list.David is a Chartered Engineer and holds an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering. He is currently Observer to the boards’ of OBS Medical, T+Medical, Cellera Inc, Vasona Inc. and is on the board of CPL Ltd.
Dr. Victor Mizrahi | Board Member
Victor Mizrahi, principal of Mizrahi Enterprises, is a successful entrepreneur. Mizrahi founded, and was President & CEO of Semrock, the industry leader in high-performance optical filters for the biotechnology industry. Prior to Semrock Mizrahi was the Chief Scientist and one of the original employees of Ciena Corporation, where he was responsible for the development and manufacturing of key optical components used in Ciena’s high-bandwidth optical transport systems. He participated in building Ciena from concept to nearly a billion dollars in revenue, and a successful IPO on NASDAQ. From 1991 through to 1994 Mizrahi was a principal researcher at the storied AT&T Bell Laboratories. Mizrahi received his PhD in Physics from the University of Toronto, his M.Sc. from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and holds 58 patents. Mizrahi Enterprises advises and invests in technology companies.

Christian SchuetzDr. Christian Schuetz is a partner at b-to-v Partners AG (www.b-to-v.com), one of the leading European private investor networks, whose activities regularly exceed this region – today reaching into the USA and Asia. Christian has been responsible for investment and fund structuring as well as reporting of portfolio companies since 2003. He is leading the b-to-v Core Groups in Cleantech and Medtech and has been responsible for the b-to-v investments in both areas. He studied Business Administration at the European Business School (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel and earned his doctorate in Banking and Finance.
